How can I check the spam that has been stopped?
- You can check the spam that has been stopped to your account by visiting www.filterspam.co.uk. Please use your full email address and email password to login to our website. When logged in click the View Spam link to view the spam that has been stopped on your account. We keep blocked spam for 7 days.
Do you have a webmail facility I can use when registered with your service?
- Yes we do, please visit www.filterspam.co.uk and login with your full email address and email password. When logged in click the My mail link on the left hand side to use our webmail interface.
What is my password for FilterSpam?
- The password for our site is kept the same as your existing email password for simplicity. If you have forgotten this please contact your email provider who will be able to give you your password.
Why can't I login to your website?
- If you have not registered with our website you will have to do so before you will be able to login, please click here to begin our registration process.
- If you have registered and have not yet downloaded the "Welcome to FilterSpam" email please check the following settings in your email program.
- Incoming Mail Server: mailhost.filterspam.co.uk (more)
- Login Name: to your email address (more)
- Once this is done you can use your email as before but without any spam!
- If you have downloaded the Welcome mail you will be able to login using your FULL email address and email password.
Why isn't my mail coming into Outlook Express (or other email program)?
- Please update the following settings in your email program

- Login Name: to your email address (more)
- Once this is done you can use your email as before but without any spam!
General
How does it work?
- We would like to tell you but we cannot at this moment as we are looking into
patents. All we can say is that the system is designed to constantly evolve to
keep pace with changes in the way spam is sent. So far it works 100% and we are
so confident about our system that we are offering a 100% guarantee. If a single
spam mail gets through in the first 30 days we will give the user a full refund.
How much will the service cost me?
Can my children see the spam that has been blocked?
- No. We do keep the spam that is blocked in a separate queue but this is only visible
to parents.
But don't all these big companies already have anti-spam systems?
- Yes, but they only block some of the spam. And the spam they do block is in a
spam queue, which the children have access to. FilterSpam blocks all of the spam
100% and only allows parents to check the blocked mail.
Registration
Does FilterSpam work for AOL email addresses?
- Unfortunately AOL uses a closed email system, which does not allow FilterSpam to access its email servers. If you want to get rid of all your spam then the only option we can offer at the moment is for you to take a new email address with us. You could then gradually phase in the use of your FilterSpam email address and phase out your AOL one. An email address with FilterSpam has the added advantage of being more open as it is POP3.
Does FilterSpam work with Hotmail or Gmail?
- At the moment FilterSpam can only filter POP3 email addresses. If you have an HTTP account (e.g. Hotmail) or an IMAP mailbox and you wish to be informed when we support these mailbox types please email support@filterspam.co.uk
Why am I getting a username/password error?
- In order to use our service it is necessary to register first. To do this simply go to our home page and click on the Register Individual or Register Family button.
Why hasn't the FilterSpam service started now I have registered?
- The FilterSpam service will not start removing junk mail until you have collected the welcome mail from FilterSpam. To do this you need to change your Incoming Mail Server to "mailhost.filterspam.co.uk" (more) and change your Login Name to your email address (more). Once this is done you can also use our web mail facility. To do this simply log in, on our home page, and click on My Mail.
Why do I keep getting a request for my Username and Password when I try to receive mail?
- In this rare case it is necessary to change your Outgoing Mail Server to use your old login name (more).
I got an error message when trying to register asking me to email support@FilterSpam.co.uk?
- If you get this message when trying to register then the chances are
that you are actually registered. To test this you can simply type in
your email address and password into the login. If FilterSpam lets you
log in then you are registered and all you need to do is change your
setting in your email program. To do this you need to change:
- Incoming Mail Server: mailhost.filterspam.com (more)
- Login Name: to your email address (more)
- Once this is done you can use your email as before but without any spam! If you want to see what has been blocked by FilterSpam then simply log into our website. We keep blocked spam for 7 days. In the case of children this is only visible by the parent.
How can I cancel the service?
- If at anytime you wish to cancel the service and you have a pop account with us simply email support@filterspam.co.uk and ask to be disconnected. This will normally take one working day.
When I print my emails why is the right side chopped off?
- This is a known problem and is on our list to fix. A quick solution is to reduce
the email to 80% of its size when printing and it should print and read
ok. The real solution is to setup your email program (Outlook/Eudora)
to pick up your mail. This is much faster and your modem will only be
on when you actually pick up email or send email. To do this you need
to change:
- Incoming Mail Server: mailhost.filterspam.co.uk (more)
- Login Name: to your email address (more)
- Once this is done you can use your email as before but without any
spam! If you want to see what has been blocked by FilterSpam then simply
log into our website. We keep blocked spam for 7 days. In the case

How can I stop email from friends being filtered?
- FilterSpam will not identify emails that are from friends as spam but
you can add someone to your good list so that all their emails are passed
straight through to you. To do this login on our homepage, click on
View Filters and then under the good list type into the box your friends
email address and then click add. The guarantee does not cover any email
that you may receive from your friend in the good list that you regard
as spam.
